Bob Lonsberry suspended in Rochester

Monday, September 22, 2003

ROCHESTER -- Bob Lonsberry, a conservative talk show host on WHAM 1180 AM in Rochester, has been suspended for two days after referring to that city’s black mayor as a "monkey" and "orangutan."

Lonsberry offered a taped apology on the air today saying that he did not mean for his comments to come off as racist.

In the past, Lonsberry's show has received occasional airings on sister Clear Channel stations including 570 WSYR in Syracuse.
