Stations mark three month anniversary of attacks

Tuesday, December 11, 2001

In a display of national unity, as requested by President Bush, radio stations across the country suspended their normal programming at 8:46 this morning, the three month anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, to play the National Anthem. A quick scan of the radio dial in Syracuse found almost all stations participating in the tribute. Howard Stern's nationally syndicated morning show, heard locally on 95X, did not break format to air the song.
